Graduate Students

I am presently accepting graduate students at the University of Iowa seeking mentoring in Second Temple Judaism, including archaeology (from the Persian period through the Roman period) and literature (including canonical Hebrew Bible and non-canonical Hebrew texts, including the Dead Sea Scrolls and Aramaic Targums, and Christian canonical and non-canonical literature).

We are presently seeking to reestablish the University of Iowa as one of the premier institutions for the study of Second Temple Judaism. Along with professors Paul Dilley and Jordan Smith of the Department of Religious Studies, we are seeking graduate students pursuing research in Persian and Hellenistic Judaism, archaeology of the Levant, and ancient eastern Mediterranean religions, and the digital humanities.

In an effort to help students schedule courses of study, I am providing this tentative schedule of courses.
